Volkswagen continues to change to meet its customers’ needs. Many customers have growing families, many friends, or more supplies to transport. You may need a bigger car to handle the extra load. Volkswagen is working on a new, bigger model that offers many of its proven features in a bigger package. Volkswagen will release the Atlas in 2018, one of its biggest model lines. It is designed to be bigger, more spacious, and more utility-oriented than other VW models. If you find yourself needing a bigger Volkswagen, meet the future of Volkswagen: The Atlas.

Bigger Size

The biggest selling point of the Volkswagen Atlas is its size. Until now, Volkswagen routinely made vehicles with up to two rows and five seats. The Atlas has a third row and seats up to seven passengers comfortably. It is designed to be spacious without making the vehicle oversized and bulky. This makes it easy to drive regularly but still gives you the ability to seat more passengers. That third row also folds down to give you more storage.

New Colors

The Volkswagen Atlas comes in a range of colors. One of the most exciting new colors is Kurkuma Yellow Metallic, a pseudo gold-plated finish that is distinctly Volkswagen. Other standard colors are available as well. Each paint job gives the Atlas a sense of depth, motion, and style that is hard to find in other vehicles. It is also resistant to the elements and scratching for a better, longer-lasting finish.

Driver-Assist Technologies

For a vehicle of its size, the Volkswagen is well designed for both driver and pedestrian safety. Volkswagen recognizes the difficulties of driving a larger vehicle and adds driver-assist technologies to help you stay safe on the road. The pedestrian monitoring system helps watch for hazards around your vehicle. It will warn you when something is close to your vehicle so that you can move to avoid it.

Redesigned Displays

Another interesting feature is the redesigned virtual cockpit system. It uses digital displays for all of your gauges. Not only is it effective at giving you standard information, but the virtual cockpit display can give you deeper details about your Atlas’ performance that are harder to find. It makes finding information quick and easy so that you can drive more effectively. The Atlas also comes with an 8-inch touchscreen display for better control over your media center. It makes finding applications quick and easy with minimal effort while driving.

One of the most interesting controls added to the Atlas is a physical drive mode control. Resting at the center of your control console, it is a dial that allows you to choose and quickly change the drive mode. This is great for quick changes in driving conditions like icy roads, off road, or dangerous areas.

The Volkswagen Atlas will likely be a major competitor in the large SUV market. It has many features that you look for in a Volkswagen with plenty of extra features worked in. In many ways, it will advance the design of the entire Volkswagen brand that may make its other lines better as well.
