Colonial VW – Feasterville is pleased to announce the award of Car and Driver’s “10Best” recognition to Volkswagen’s Golf models including the e-Golf, Golf, Golf Alltrack, Golf GTI, Golf SportWagen, and Golf R. This is the 12th consecutive “10Best” award in a field of 65 vehicles. The Golf models were recognized for outstanding versatility, value, and dynamics. All will be featured in Car and Driver’s January 2018 “10Best” issue.
The criteria for consideration in the Car and Driver “10Best” list include:
- The car must have been in production in the current calendar year, and have been available by January
- It must be priced less than 2.5 times the average car price for the year
- A car must be provided for testing by the manufacturer
- Only vehicles that have been substantially changed and the “10Best” winners of the past year are considered
Some specifics of the Volkswagen winners are:
e-Golf — This electric car brings current technology to the Golf line, and the upgrade in 2017 provided an expanded range of 125 miles and can be charged in less than six hours on a 240v charging station, or less than an hour to achieve 80% charge when equipped with a DC Fast Charging system.
Golf — The new Golf offers passenger comfort with enhanced interior and exterior styling and a long list of new standard and available equipment in all trims. All models added LED daytime running lights and tail lights, a new chrome grille, and new bumpers. Interior improvements include an improved infotainment screen, and safety systems including forward collision warning, emergency braking, rear traffic alert, and blind spot monitoring on most SE trims or higher.
Alltrack — The Alltrack builds on the successful Golf SportWagen and offers improved ground clearance, a rugged exterior, and standard 4Motion all-wheel drive.
GTI — Now offered with a standard Performance Package, providing a horsepower boost to 220 for the 2.0 liter turbocharged and direct-injected TSI® engine.
SportWagen — This is an excellent choice for drivers who want the space and utility of a SUV with the driving excitement of the Golf.
Golf R — The R is the most powerful Golf ever sold in the US, offering 292 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque while providing up to 29 mpg highway with either the 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG® automatic transmission.
