The flavors of Thailand combine rich aromas and spices to create delicious, savory meals. Philadelphia has a number of excellent Thai restaurants where you can get curry, soups, and pad thai. If you are in the mood for some delicious food for lunch or dinner, here are some Thai places to try in your neighborhood.

JJ Thai Cuisine

JJ Thai Cuisine on Chestnut Street serves lunch starting at 11:30 a.m. and dinner starting at 5 p.m. Their pad thai is some of the best you can get in the city, with its incredible combination of flavors and noodles cooked just right. This place also serves delicious chicken satay, and the basil fried rice is wonderful.

If you want to try a variety of dishes, the trio sampler app comes with steak satay, mini crispy duck salad, and a crab and shrimp roll. For those who like their noodle dishes, this is the place to go. The drunken noodles are incredible, and the pad see ew is also excellent. The service at JJ Thai Cuisine is friendly, and they are willing to help you figure out what you want if you’re not sure.

Xiandu Thai

Xiandu Thai on Walnut Street has a cozy atmosphere and delicious food with an Indian and Thai fusion. Make sure to try the Panang curry or the veggie broth soup, both of which are warm with the right amount of spice. This place serves roti canai, which is very similar to naan, and it comes with a chicken and potato mixture for dipping. If you’re up for a treat, the Massaman curry with chicken is fantastic, and the green curry with beef is also a fine choice.

Xiandu Thai also has good cocktails. You can get a lychee martini, a margarita, or even a spicy martini if you’re up for something different.

Baan Thai

Baan Thai on N. American Street in the Northern Liberties part of town serves up flavorful Thai food. This place serves summer rolls made just right so all the filling doesn’t fall out. These rolls come with a variety of dipping sauces, including a peanut sauce and a sweet and sour. Another good dish is the Kang Dang, which is a red curry with lemongrass and coconut milk to add some sweetness.

You can get a lunch special that includes a salad with Thai peanut dressing, a cup of Tom Yum soup, and your choice of entrée, though many reviews recommend the Panang curry with it. Because Baan Thai is so authentic, there might be a slight language barrier, but it will absolutely be worth it in the end.

Jasmine Rice

Jasmine Rice on S. 16th Street in the Rittenhouse Square area offers a quiet atmosphere and serves organic and gluten-free options. This is a BYOB restaurant so make sure to stop and grab a bottle of wine or some beer before you get there.

Try one of these Thai restaurants in Philadelphia the next time you crave curry or pad thai. Stay safe on your drive there by looking into a new car from Colonial Volkswagen Feasterville.
